About Judge Bond

Before she joined the Minnesota Court of Appeals, Judge Bond was an attorney in the Office of the Minnesota Appellate Public Defender, where she represented indigent clients from around the state in their criminal appeals. Judge Bond handled more than 200 appeals in the Minnesota Court of Appeals and the Minnesota Supreme Court.

Judge Bond also worked as a civil litigator at Faegre and Benson, LLP (now Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP) in Minneapolis and Shearman and Sterling in Washington, D.C. Judge Bond began her legal career as a law clerk for Chief Judge Boyce F. Martin, Jr. on the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. 

Throughout her career, Judge Bond has been committed to serving her community. She has been an active member in the Minnesota State Bar Association and was honored to receive the William McGee Public Defender Award of Excellence from the MSBA Public Law Section in 2024. Before being appointed to the court of appeals, Judge Bond taught criminal procedure at Mitchell / Hamline School of Law, served on the Minnesota Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Rules of Civil Appellate Procedure, and was a member of the board of directors of the Great North Innocence Project.  

Judge Bond earned her B.A. from the University of Toronto and her J.D. cum laude from Boston University School of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the International Law Journal. Judge Bond lives in Minneapolis with her husband, two children, and their rescue dog Gracie.
